In Sanskrit, Atman is the soul - not the self that thinks and wants, but the witness beneath it, the presence behind the eyes. Still. Unchanging.

The opening declares itself without hurry. Kashmir saffron, dry and dignified, meets the bright cut of Spanish bitter orange and the warm shimmer of Madagascar pink pepper. Philippines elemi lends a resinous clarity; Omani Hojari Frankincense rises behind it like smoke through a temple window - present, then gone, then present again.

The heart is where the architecture reveals itself. Turkish rose and Hasayan rose distillate (Chaiti Ruh Gulab) are layered rather than blended - two roses speaking in different registers. Ruh Kewra cuts through with a cool, green precision, like a monsoon wind crossing open fields. Moroccan orange blossom lifts the composition; Spanish labdanum and Peru balsam pull it back down into amber and aged wood. Madagascar vanilla absolute is used sparingly - not as sweetness, but as a hand placed over the heart.

The base is built to last, not to perform. 2018 Mysore sandalwood gives the structure its creaminess and longevity. 2020 Manipur oud - raisin, fig, leathery, deep resinous most wearers know - gives it spine. Sumatran benzoin adds a low balsamic hush. Guaicawood closes the composition with a smoky, rose-toned dryness that outlasts everything above it.

Atman is not designed to fill a room. It is designed to sit close to skin and reveal itself slowly - saffron and smoke first, rose and resin second, sandalwood and oud last, hours later, alone. A fragrance built for the wearer, not the witness.

Atman is limited to 150 numbered bottles. Each bottle is individually numbered, no further production of this formula is planned.
